Event Drives Dialogue about Business and Technical Strategies to Leverage Today's Big Data Platforms and Applications

What: Today, Cloudera Government Solutions, Inc. announced the speakers and sessions scheduled for the 2015 Cloudera Federal Forum, "Manage, Analyze, and Act: How Big Data is Changing Agency Outcomes," taking place February 25, 2015. The event, geared towards public sector professionals, will enable a dialogue about business and technical strategies for leveraging today's big data platforms and applications to the advantage of public sector agencies.

Who: Defense Information Systems Agency chief information officer Dave Bennett, Cloudera co-founder and chief strategy officer Mike Olson, and NASA Center for Climate Simulation head Daniel Duffy have been confirmed as speakers.

Bennett, in addition to his role as CIO, is the principal director for Enterprise Information Services for the Defense Information Systems Agency. Mr. Bennett has earned numerous military awards, including the Defense Superior Service medal and the Legion of Merit. He will keynote the forum from 8:15 to 9:00 a.m.

Duffy has worked on a number of NASA projects exploring technologies for the next generation of high performance computing solutions, including being the co-investigator on the MERRA Analytics Service Project, which has led to the formulation of Climate Analytics-as-a-Service. Before joining NASA, Duffy worked on highly parallel applications for the Department of Defense.

Olson, who co-founded Cloudera in 2008 and served as its CEO until 2013, today serves as chief strategy officer, where he drives the company's product strategy, open-source leadership, engineering alignment, and direct engagement with customers. Prior to Cloudera, Olson was CEO of Sleepycat Software and vice president for Embedded Technologies of Oracle. He will keynote from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m.
